I found this little guy curled up less than two feet from my back porch. I’ve been working out there all afternoon, so there’s no telling how many times I disturbed him. When I spotted him, it was because I nearly stepped on him.

This !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I’ve found a cottonmouth in my back yard. While I let that one go, this one decided to head back toward the house when I tried to shoo him away. Wrong move, snake. Shovel, meet snake. Off with his head.

I feel bad for him, but I have kids and dogs. They come first.

Normally I’m a “let them be” type, hell my garage has a small spider infestation and I’m pretty sure I have spider webs in the Stringbean. But cottonmouths are genuinely dangerous, especially when it comes to kids, doggo and yourself.

Plus shovel is about the most human way so long as it clean severes the head .

I tossed the remains over the fence into the grass next to the pond. If that wasn’t an option, I’d put it out of reach of the dogs and let it dry out for a couple of days before tossing it into the trash. Holycrap I heard of someone recently who cut the head off and got bit. After the heads cut off it loselt it’s ability roto regulate dosage so it just emptied out on the person. The needed like all the antivemo n available
